Abbey Pilates is a purpose built Pilates studio based in The Fairways, Abbeyleix that offers group and one to one Pilates for all fitness levels and abilities.
We keep classes small so every client can receive unique instruction in order for them to make the most of their Pilates practice.
About Chris
I’m a fully qualified advanced Pilates teacher with the Pilates Institute of Ireland.
Having practiced Pilates for most of my life I truly believe in the health and wellbeing benefits it brings.
As a busy mum of three active boys I appreciate how difficult it can sometimes be to fit exercise into a bustling schedule but I know that all aspects of my life are better with Pilates and I feel passionate about sharing the benefits of Pilates with you.

What is Pilates?
Pilates is a full body exercise system which aims to strengthen the body in an even way. Particular emphasis lies on core strength and correct posture alignment to improve muscle tone, balance, joint mobility and posture as well as relieve stress and tension.
Pilates was developed by its name sake, Joseph Pilates, in the 1920’s. Joseph Pilates believed that mental and physical health, were closely connected. He developed a body conditioning regime to help build flexibility, mobility, strength and coordination with this in mind.
Pilates has something to offer people of all ages and levels of ability and fitness, from beginners to elite athletes.
Beginners/ Improvers
Suitable for anyone who is new to Pilates or has a low fitness level
Mixed Level
This class is suitable for beginners and intermediate levels.
Gentle Pilates
A gentle class suitable for beginners, pre and postnatal and age active. 1 to 1 and small group classes available. Contact us for more information.
Intermediate
Suitable for people that have some experience of Pilates or have some level of fitness
Advanced
Suitable for people with a high level of Pilates experience or with a good fitness level
